My role was to build a visual system that could carry nearly 600 pages of dense academic text while feeling welcoming, credible, and intellectually serious. Every decision was made to make it feel closer to a book than an academic journal.

Layout

The grid had to accommodate two very different reading modes — dense theoretical text and full-bleed documentary spreads. Footnotes sit beside the passage they annotate, not at the bottom of the page.

The cover is built around pluriverse — the idea that multiple worlds coexist. I used AI image generation as a design tool, shaping the final image through iterative prompting and the author's feedback.
